Changes regarding Instant Payments
The new European regulation on instant payments has brought about significant changes for all SEPA credit transfers in euros. From October 9, 2025 certain updates regarding the speed of execution, transaction security, and your control over payments will come into effect.
What does this mean for you?
✅ Payments in up to 10 seconds
Instant payments will be available 24 hours a day, every day of the year – including holidays and weekends. Immediately after confirmation you will be notified whether the payment was successful or rejected.
🔍 Verification of Payee (VoP)
Before executing the payment the system will check whether the IBAN entered matches the recipient's name. If there is a mismatch, you will receive a warning, but the decision to execute the payment will still be yours.
💳 More control with payment limits
Account holders will be able to set their own maximum amounts for individual payments or for total daily spending. If the amount will be exceeded, the payment will be rejected, and you will receive instructions on how to adjust the limit.
